‘GUILD GOES GREEN’- UCC Societies Guild invest in 100% Electric Van
(Pictured with the Van outside 6 Carrigside, the home of UCC Societies, is Outgoing President James Boyle, Incoming President Kayla Maher and Societies Staff Bea McCarthy)
To top off a successful year for UCC Societies we recently received delivery of our newest vehicle; a 100% Electric Renault Kangoo Van. Outgoing Societies President James Boyle says: “I think it’s a really clear sign of the direction and focus of UCC Societies that this year we managed to accomplish most of our sustainability strategic plan goals that were originally meant for completion in 2022. Societies in UCC collectively have made a huge effort this year to be more socially responsible and to reduce the impact we, as a community, have on the environment and by far our electric van is the biggest addition to our efforts so far.”
The van will primarily be used to move equipment and props around campus and the city and is now available for use by all 107 Societies.
In choosing electric we are contributing to the University’s sustainability goals and looking forward to bringing more positive updates your way as part of our ‘Guild Goes Green’ initiative.Watch this space !:)
